CAMILLE AMMOUN
Camille Ammoun is a writer and policy advisor whose work focuses on cities, political economy, climate change, and the environment. As a writer, Camille explores psychogeography as a method to describe and address contemporary urban issues through literature. In his latest book, a fictional essay titled “Subsidence” (Terre Urbaine, 2023), he proposes to extend the concept of subsidence beyond the field of geology to describe human and social phenomena. He supports his proposition with photos of Beirut buildings affected by the various catastrophes the city has endured over the past decades. Camille is a university lecturer at ALBA and an associate fellow at the IFI-AUB. Additionally, he is a member of the International Writers’ House in Beirut (Beyt el Kottab).
