OPEN CALL: Gulf Photo Plus

26/08/2019 - BCP Webmaster

Gulf Photo Plus, The Arab Street, Mohamed Mahdy, Egypt
Gulf Photo Plus is pleased to announce an open call for the 2019 Community Exhibition, accepting submissions from all formats, cameras, and photographers of any background.
This year, we are encouraging our community to return to the streets of the Middle-East and North Africa, for the second installment in The Arab Street anthology.
Street photography is a genre that is as broad as it is classical, and features any type of subject or lack thereof, in almost any public space. While street photography is comparably new to the region and is restricted by legislation around imagery, there is still a resourceful and inventive approach taken by many practitioners looking for their decisive moment.
We invite photographers of all skill levels to capture images of our streets, the people they carry, the public places they access ⏤ by manipulating framing, light and shadow, and employing juxtaposition and wit.
Submissions are open (gulfphotoplus.com/opencall) and the deadline to submit your images is Aug 30, 11:59PM Dubai time. There is no fee for entry and you can submit up to 3 photos. Entrants will be informed if they were selected by September 5, and the opening will take place at 7PM on September 18 at Gulf Photo Plus in Alserkal Avenue.
